Information on Kastella in Piraeus

Kastella is an elegant and popular neighbourhood of Piraeus, over Kastella is the hill of Profitis Ilias. Walk to the top of the hill, and admire the alleys with picturesque houses. The view of the main port, Zea and Mikrolimano is unique. In the area is the open-air theatre "Veakeio," which hosts important cultural events in summer. In Profitis Ilias you can find as well the Bowling club. Kastella is probably the most elegant area of Piraeus. Neoclassical buildings with amzing vies to the Saronic gulf and the south west of Athens.

In Alexandras square you can enjoy the view having a coffee or dinner at one of the restaurants and the local cafeterias. A few minutes walk from there is the beach of Paraskevas that you can swim during a hot summer day. From Kastella you can see the Ancient Piraeus wall at the other side of the port in Marina Zeas.
