Piraeus info:The I.S.A.P. station (metro stop "Piraeus"). The stately eclectic building with the arched dome (1929), replicates the relevant European stations of the period. Recently the interior was completely renovated. One the walls are displayed the works of the students of the School of Fine Arts.

The Archaeological Museum. It displays mostly sculptures found in Piraeus and the coast of Attica. The exhibits relate the history, and the rise and fall of the ancient city.
Notice the five bronze statue discovered in Piraeus in 1959.Archaic Kouros-Apollo, two statues of Artemis, Athena of Piraeus, and an ancient tragedy mask (4th century BC).


The Maritime Museum is located at Akti Moutsopoulou.Its exhibits cover about 3,000 years of Greek nautical history.

"Monastiraki" of Piraeus
A market similar to the corresponding market in Athens (Monastiraki), open every Sunday at Dragatsaniou
Str. and Mavromihali Str. You can find good bargains.

The Municipal Theatre.
It dominates one of the central squares (Korai Square). It was built in the 1880's in the neoclassical style by architect I. Lazarimos. It is one of the most frequented places, a meeting place of residents of Piraeus.
