Hotel and accommodations in Folegandros
Folegandros administratively belongs to the prefecture of the
Cyclades. Folegandros is one of the small islands of the
Cyclades that recently has become a popular holiday destination
for many Greek and foreign mostly young tourists, the island
located about 100 nautical miles south-east of Athens and 25
miles to the north of Santorini island. With one of the nicest
beaches in Greece this small island of 10 miles long and ca 3
miles width has become a backpackers destination.
The capital of the island is Chora build with the typical
Cyclades architecture with small whitewashed cubic houses and
narrow stone paved streets, up on a rocky cliff and some smaller
villages like Pano meria and Karavostasi its port.
There are some really nice beaches near the port as well as the
beach of Agios Nicolaos and Agali. On the island you will find
accommodation in small hotels, self catering studios and rooms
to let.
